The short man is middle-aged, he's very pale, but not weak. The dog is a big black dog -and looks even bigger beside the man.
The man says (looking towards camera):
"There you are!"
We see him digging the snow with a small shovel; in doing this he throws some snow on the camera lens, then more until it's completely covered in snow.
We hear the man whistle the dog and walk away in the snow.
Cut to:
The bedroom.
The girls see the doppelganger and ask her if breakfast's ready; without waiting for an answer they file past her cheerfully, hand in hand, and go out of the room.
The last girl looks the doppelganger in the eyes for a moment, smiles, then takes her by the hand and leads her out of the room with the others.
The doppelganger looks disoriented, but no longer scared.
Cut to:
The hall.
They come down the stairs. Still hand in hand, they skip towards the kitchen.
Cut to:
The kitchen.
The girls sit around the table with the others, they eat and chat. On the table are the omelette, a bottle of milk and a bowl of fruit. The doppelganger stays standing.
The woman with the bandage caresses the doppelganger’s head, then takes off the doppelganger's sweater and trousers, revealing the gymnastics outfit underneath.
Cut to:
the dwarf takes a strawberry from the bowl and holds it up in the air, as if to call attention, with mock-serious expression. Everyone looks at him, then at the bandaged woman, expectantly. The fire-eater says to the bandaged woman "come on, a small sacrifice to make the children smile!"
The woman winks at the doppelganger reassuringly. She stands up and opens her mouth. The dwarf takes careful aim, everyone's quiet. The dwarf throws the strawberry, it misses the woman's mouth and flies straight out of the window behind her. Everybody laughs and cheers, except the doppelganger
Cut to:
close up: the doppelganger's expression shows she has suddenly understood or remembered something.
Cut to:
the doppelganger runs to the hall, moves a stool in front of the window and climbs on it.
Cut to:
The prairie seen through the window: it's spring. A sunny morning.
The big black dog is there, eating the grass.
The short man is nearby, his back to the camera. He's crouched on the spot where the girl was buried, weeding and gardening with the small shovel.
As he finishes and stands up, we can see a white lily on that same spot.
The man and the dog walk away.
We see the doppelganger's face in reflection. She smiles.
